We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Quality Control Inspector to inspect fabricated steel components and help maintain quality throughout the production process. Experienced senior-level structural steel fitters or fabricators may also be considered. Overview

We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Quality Control Inspector to inspect fabricated steel components and help maintain quality throughout the production process. Experienced senior-level structural steel fitters or fabricators may also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect fabricated structural steel throughout the production process
  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections
  • Verify dimensions, layout, and component placement
  • Compare materials and completed work against shop drawings and specifications
  • Identify, document, and follow up on nonconforming work in accordance with AWS D1.1/D1.5
  • Work with fabrication and production teams to correct quality issues
  • Support quality improvement efforts and process improvements
  • Participate in annual AISC quality-control audits

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of structural steel layout and fabrication experience
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication and construction drawings
  • Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and quality requirements
  • Welding certification in AWS D1.1 and/or D1.5 preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify dimensional and fabrication issues Schedule
  • Monday–Friday, 1st Shift
  • Overtime available on Saturdays
