Kurita’s corporate philosophy is to study the properties of water, master them and create an environment in which nature and humanity are in harmony Job Title: Production Technician Location: Cambridge, MN Comp: $23/hour Shift: 6:00am-2:30pm The Production Technician is responsible for assisting in the production process from order to completion, ensuring orders are filled in a timely manner, meeting or exceeding customer requests, and supporting department goals.

The Production Technician will blend or assist in the production of chemical products, load/unloading trucks, prepare shipments and comply with all Kurita America safety requirements, policies, and procedures, and maintain the production area in operational condition. All work must be done in a safe, efficient manner that meets or exceeds our quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe work environment by using the proper PPE and following all work instructions.
  • Accountable for producing, repackaging or relabeling chemicals in accordance with Kurita America’s quality control procedures, including completing and maintaining batch tickets, labels and other order details.
  • Prepare parcel shipments according to 49 CFR, verify labeled and documented properly before shipping.
  • Accurately track lot numbers of all products shipped from warehouse on Bill of Lading (BOL) and on the warehouse shipment. Use chemical on a First In, First Out (FIFO) basis preventing the spoiling of product by properly identifying lot numbers.
  • Tag and track returned chemical per Returned Materials process.
  • Assist in annual and cycle inventory counts.
  • Maintain all production equipment. Work with Maintenance and/or Shift Lead to schedule needed repairs.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of plant, grounds, and production equipment.
  • Assist Shift Lead by coordinating work flow/information between shifts, QC, and Transportation.
  • Request from the Production Coordinator non-chemical products to include operating supplies, safety supplies, labels, and office supplies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Similar industrial production experience will be considered as equivalent.
  • Willing to work overtime when needed. Physical and Mental

Requirements

  • Mechanical abilities and aptitude combined with the following physical requirements: lift 100lbs, push 750lbs on drum cart, use manual pallet jack with 4,000lb pallet, use forklifts, and wear respirator and other PPE.
  • Strong problem solving skills and the ability to identify and manage process improvement.
