Job Description: BHMG Ultrasound Tech

Job Summary

• With limited supervision coordinates the delivery of health care services to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
• Establishes and maintains standards of care in Ultrasound sciences.
• Exercises professional judgment in performance of duties.
• Assures appropriate patient care management and adjust daily operations to meet the needs of a changing work environment.
• Involved with staff competencies, schedules, and educational needs.
• If position involves work with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physicians, nuchal translucency certification preferred (or obtained within the first year of employment). Performs the following studies proficiently:
• Biophysical Profile
• Complete Obstetric Ultrasound
• Limited Obstetric Ultrasound
• Multiple Gestation Ultrasound
• Transvaginal (cervical length) Ultrasound
• Pelvic Ultrasound Minimum Education, Experience, Training, and Licensures Required:
• High School Diploma required; Associates Degree from an OB-GYN Ultrasound program preferred (Certificate or Degree as long as registry eligible).
• Holds current credentials as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
• Three (3) years of experience in scanning OB-GYN procedures.
• Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate.
