We're currently looking to hire a full-time Senior Linux Engineer with extensive Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills to join our service technology group who work with the most exciting and cutting edge technologies.
Responsibilities
Install and configure Linux hosts (generally, but not limited to, Red Hat, Scientific Linux)
- Create, deploy, manage virtual hosts using VMware
- Deploy and configure various Java applications
- Deploy and configure various Apache and Tomcat installations Script common tasks using Perl, Bash, etc.
- Plan for and troubleshoot resource bottlenecks Troubleshoot problems with application, web and database performance Find creative solutions to ever-changing technical hurdles
- Ability to multi-task on several projects at the same time
- Ability to own projects, proactively driving them to completion within timelines
- Ability to quickly learn, and adapt new technologies to our infrastructure Install and configure Linux hosts (generally, but not limited to, Scientific Linux & RedHat)

- Ability to multi-task on several projects at the same time

- Ability to quickly learn, and adapt new technologies to our infrastructure Use knowledge of open source/existing software to adapt solutions
- Design and deploy existing and new enterprise technologies
Qualifications
Very strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills TCP/IP and basic networking vSphere/vCenter installation, configuration administration and troubleshooting Configuring Apache and Tomcat servers Troubleshooting 3-tier (app, web, db) services
- Experience using code repositories (svn/git) Cassandra experience Configuring and administering MySQL (Percona) databases
- Create and debug MySQL queries
- Understanding of DNS and how to configure and troubleshoot it MTA administration and troubleshooting Must have good scripting knowledge (Perl, Bash primarily)
