Our   Orthopaedic   surgeons offer expert treatment for a wide spectrum of conditions, from simple bone fractures to complex joint disorders. No matter our patients’ needs, we aim to quickly get them back to their highest level of function possible. We use advanced technologies to offer every patient the most effective, personalized surgical care plan.   By joining the   Orthopaedi cs   team as an LPN,   you will   assist   with caring for patients who are post-op or heading to surgery. Some of your responsibilities will include giving injections,   pulling the right medication, and preparing the sterile site.   In this role, you will improve   the patient   experience as well as provide support to patients from start to finish.   This is an excellent opportunity for someone who  seeks  to enhance their nursing skills through learning opportunities and professional development. A   PRN   caregiver in this position   works   a minimum of 2 shifts per week  from   8:00AM – 5:00PM   or 7:30AM – 4:30PM. Travelling to Coral Springs will be   r equired . A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients.
  • Administer medication.
  • Maintain complete and  accurate  documentation in medical records and files.
  • Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions .
  • Implement pain management assessments and documentation.
  • Recognize changes in patients' status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.
  • Educate patients,  families  and others.
  • Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
  • Follow Code Blue protocol. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Knowledge of infection control practices
  • Experience with technology
  • Computer literacy Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • One year of clinical experience
  • Phlebotomy background
  • Orthopaedic   background Physical

Requirements

  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good hand-eye coordination, involves extensive standing walking and occasional lifting.
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
  • Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment:
