Big Data Engineer

• Experience working on a big data platform
• Demonstrated deep proficiency with Big Data processing technologies (Hadoop, Spark,HBase, Cassandra, other NO SQL solutions)
• Experience in building data pipelines and analysis tools using Java (not limited to J2EE), Scala, Python An understanding of databases and large-scale data processing frameworks
• Experience building large-scale server-side systems with distributed processing algorithms.
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to learn new languages, tools, and techniques as needed to meet project requirements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills Desired Skills: C#/.NET, Java EE, Ruby or other object oriented programming language
• Familiarity with map data
• Familiarity with real-time streaming distributed data processing systems. Development experience with Linux or Unix
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud hosting provider Education/
• Experience Required: Minimum 5 years Programming work experience; Four year degree from an accredited university with a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Computer Science or related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
