Chief Engineer Job Title: Chief Engineer – Facilities Maintenance Job Type: Full-Time Place of Performance: Culpeper, VA Schedule: Full-Time (On-call for emergencies)
Summary
The Chief Engineer will provide technical leadership for all building systems and maintenance operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and utility systems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of commercial or institutional facilities maintenance experience.
- At least three (3) years supervising maintenance personnel.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read construction drawings and technical manuals. Duties:
- Supervise maintenance personnel and daily operations.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules.
- Troubleshoot complex building system failures.
- Coordinate major repairs and subcontracted work.
- Review work orders and maintenance documentation.
- Ensure facility systems remain operational at all times.
