Overview

Empowerment Quality Care Services is seeking reliable, compassionate, and professional Independent Contractor Drivers to provide Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT). In this role, you will play a vital part in our community by transporting patients safely and punctually to medical appointments, rehabilitation centers, and other essential healthcare services. As a 1099 contractor, you enjoy the flexibility of managing your own schedule while delivering the high standard of care and respect our clients deserve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safe Transportation: Safely operate your personal vehicle (or company-provided vehicle, if applicable) to transport ambulatory or wheelchair-bound clients to and from medical facilities.
  • Punctuality & Reliability: Adhere to scheduled pick-up and drop-off times to ensure clients never miss critical medical appointments.
  • Passenger Assistance: Provide courteous, door-to-door assistance, helping clients enter and exit the vehicle safely.
  • Navigation & Compliance: Utilize GPS routing to find the most efficient paths while strictly obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Communication: Maintain clear communication with dispatch and clients regarding arrival times or unexpected delays.
  • Documentation: Accurate and timely logging of trips, mileage, and client signatures via our digital routing application. Contractor

Requirements

  • Age: Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Experience: NEMT, rideshare, or delivery experience is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Valid Documentation: * Active Driver’s License with a clean driving record (No major violations).
  • Proof of valid vehicle registration and commercial or high-limit auto insurance.
  • Background Screening: Must successfully pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
  • Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification and PASS (Passenger Assistance Safety and Sustainability) training are highly preferred (willingness to obtain is required).
  • Skills: Excellent communication, patience, and a strong sense of empathy for elderly patients and individuals with disabilities.
