What You'll Do
- Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on light and medium duty fleet vehicles
- Prepare and maintain vehicle records and reports, both manually and by computer
- Perform safety inspections of equipment and complete required safety documentation
- Inspect and perform work on the underside and all areas of vehicles as needed
- Move, remove, and install parts to and from the job site
- Interact with clients by email and phone as necessary
- Comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as required What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years' experience performing vehicle maintenance, or an auto or diesel technology diploma from an accredited technical school
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle to verify proper operation
- Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, Email, and Fleet Management Systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (documentation and communication with peers, supervisors, etc.)
- Ability to provide your own hand tools and toolbox Working Conditions This role involves working in and around vehicles in heavy traffic areas and shop environments, with exposure to considerable dust, diesel fumes, and noise, as well as chemicals, oils, greases, and other irritants. Technicians must be able to access any area of the equipment or vehicle to perform necessary maintenance, including bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and crawling, and must be able to move and position heavy objects.
