SUMMARY DESCRIPTION Responsible for operating a variety of heavy trucks, tractors, construction equipment, light duty pick-ups, grass cutting equipment on a regularly assigned basis; check for improper functioning of the equipment during operations; performing general grounds keeping and other duties necessary to maintain the appearance of the District locations. This position description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge or abilities associated with this classification, but is intended to accurately reflect the primary job elements. Essential Job Functions
- Drives light duty pick-ups, farm tractor, heavy equipment truck/machines, and grass cutting equipment.
- Repair/replace dumpsters at various locations.
- Pick up and deliver dirt, sand, mulch, firebark, and sod.
- Removes tree branches/stumps and debris when required.
- Cuts swells and ditches for drainage as needed.
- Perform concrete/asphalt patching, along with filling potholes.
- Removal of ice/snow when required.
- Serve as a strike team to cut district locations when requested.
- Cut SCIAA stadiums, along with tilling and dragging baseball fields when required.
- Travel to various sites to repair/patch concrete, asphalt, and potholes
- Attends meetings and workshops as necessary to enhance job knowledge and skills.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum Qualifications
Requires High School diploma or GED plus one (1) year of related experience for a total of education/experience of 1 year. Requires a valid state driver's license.
- Degree Equivalency Formula :
- Bachelor's
- Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience.
- Master’s
- Degree = 2 years plus required years of experience. Where Master's Degrees are required, years for Bachelor's Degrees must be included.
