Job Summary

This 100-bed hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County. Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians, nurses, and other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment. As an Echo Laboratory   Workleader , you will function as a primary technical resource for the Cardiovascular Imaging Lab and   assist   with   day-to-day   operations. You will direct and coordinate all aspects of the Cardiovascular Imaging Lab Quality Assurance Programs as well as o versee   visiting physicians,   sonographers   and fellows   and c oordinate and direct continuing education training on new equipment and technology including stress echo and dobutamine. Performs Echo, Doppler, Color   Doppler   and 3D exams.   This is  a great opportunity  for experienced techs to expand their capabilities and gain skills that not all Vascular Technologists have.  Every day, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients by ensuring they receive necessary care. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:30AM – 5:00PM, including rotating   weekends and holidays and on-call requirements. Floating between Martin North, Martin South, Tradition, St. Lucie  West  and Stuart Family Health Center will be  required , as needed. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Assist   in the design,   implementation   and evaluation of existing or proposed modalities.
  • Serve as a resource to the Cardiovascular Imaging Sonographers and Supervisor in resolution of discrepancies or problems in their assigned areas of responsibility as it pertains to quality assurance.
  • Monitor patient care aspect of quality assurance.
  • Attend   meetings to support research and educational growth and awareness.
  • Facilitate monthly teaching sessions and journal club.
  • Work with the vendors for on-going   on-site   teaching sessions.
  • Work individually with staff to improve image acquisition and quality.
  • Act as   liaison   to schools and mentor students that rotate through the lab for training. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Graduate from a two-year Cardiovascular Technologist Program
  • Three years of experience in cardiac ultrasound
  • Active Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) registry status from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Vascular AND Echo Technologist Physical

Requirements

  • Essential Duties: Interact with patients, family's physicians and other health care workers. Good hand coordination for positioning of probe and equipment. Good vision to analyze computer screens and VCR recordings to diagnose test results.
  • Physical Duties: Moderate lifting and positioning of patients. Moderate pushing and pulling of equipment. Working Conditions: 100% air conditioned. Moderate risk of exposure to blood or airborne pathogens. Personal Protective Equipment:
