Janitorial Technician Job Type: Part-time / Full-time Place of Performance: W.G. “Bill” Hefner VA Medical Center 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury Schedule: As required by contract schedule

Summary

The Janitorial Technician is responsible for performing daily cleaning, sanitation, waste removal, floor care, and general custodial duties throughout assigned facility areas.

Requirements

• Janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or related cleaning experience preferred.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to use standard cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment safely.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical cleaning tasks during the shift.
• Must be able to pass all required background checks and facility access requirements. Duties
• Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, hallways, common areas, and assigned spaces.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floor surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling containers.
• Clean and disinfect restroom fixtures and replenish supplies.
• Wipe doors, glass, walls, furniture, and high-touch surfaces.
• Report maintenance concerns, spills, hazards, or damaged items.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment in a safe and proper manner.
• Complete assigned cleaning tasks according to schedule and quality standards.
