Job Objective: Safely operate coating production equipment to apply coatings and adhesives to hook and loop fabrics, making machine adjustments as required to maintain quality standards. Operator also responsible for maintaining a clean work area, following department and company safety rules, and following Standard Operating Procedures. Essential Job Functions:
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
- Follow SOP and operate coating lines to apply a variety of coatings to hook and loop tapes, with emphasis on producing a quality product.
- Must set up coater and oven, and mix adhesives when required.
- Material handling includes loading and doffing rolls from production equipment, loading adhesive drums into pump stand, and moving material between processes.
- Operators are responsible for accurately entering production WIP moves into the computer and electronically or manually recording additional production data
- Full-time presence required
- Excellent Attendance Required
- Must work well with others in a team environment
- Ability to work overtime as required or requested, including extended shifts and weekends.
- Ability and willingness to be cross trained in other functions as required or requested.
- Additional tasks as assigned What You Bring (Qualifications):
- Hazardous Communications, Lockout / Tagout and Powered Industrial Truck certification or certification obtained within 30 days.
- Ability to read and interpret written instructions, to complete basic paperwork and to accurately perform data entry.
- Must work to maintain a 5S and tidy environment.
- Basic understanding of machine tension and temperature controls.
- Proficiency in basic math.
- Computer literacy to the MS product level (Word, basic excel) required.
- Previous chemical handling experience, and knowledge of operating manufacturing equipment preferred Work Environment & Schedule:
- Onsite manufacturing environment with shift-based schedule.
