Department: Behavioral Health Unit Shifts Available: Days Employment Type: Part-time Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00 am to 7:00 pm Location: Saint John Hospital – Leavenworth, KS Make a meaningful impact every day. As a Behavioral Health Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) , you'll provide compassionate, hands-on care to patients with acute mental health needs in a dynamic inpatient behavioral health setting. Working alongside Registered Nurses and an interdisciplinary care team, you'll play a key role in promoting patient safety, stabilization, and recovery.

Responsibilities

(includes, but is not limited to):

• Provide direct nursing care to patients with acute mental and behavioral health needs in an inpatient setting
• Observe, monitor, and document patient behavior, mental status, and safety risks
• Administer medications as ordered and monitor for side effects
• Assist with crisis intervention and de‑escalation to promote unit safety
• Support admissions, discharges, and transfers, including patient education
• Collaborate with RNs, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Complete, accurate, and timely clinical documentation per policy and regulations

Qualifications

• Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
