The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is seeking Patrol Deputies to serve and protect our communities through a professional, community-focused approach to law enforcement. This is a dynamic role for individuals who are reliable, level-headed, and ready to take on meaningful responsibility. What You’ll Earn
- Starting pay: $32.15/hour+ (based on experience)
- Full-time (40 hours) + full benefits
- Shift differentials & stipends available Additional Pay Incentives:
- Military Service Stipend: +$0.25/hour (4+ years active duty, honorable discharge)
- Certified officers (BLETP/academy):
- $6,000 sign-on bonus
- Up to 15 years lateral credit (pay + time off) What You’ll Do
- Patrol assigned areas and respond to calls for service
- Enforce federal, state, and local laws
- Conduct traffic stops, investigations, and arrests
- Respond to disturbances and emergency situations
- Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects
- Gather evidence and complete detailed reports

- Age 21 (or 20 with 60 college credits)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Maine driver’s license
- Must reside in Maine within 15 miles of Cumberland County
- Ability to pass a background investigation
