Child Care Associate

Childcare Associate Job description The childcare associate position is responsible for providing a safe and nurturing environment for the children living at ACCESS. This is a part-time position, Monday- Thursday with up to one evening per week. QUALIFICATIONS

• Child Development education or related field preferred.
• Previous childcare experience required.
• Candidate must be an outgoing “people person”
• Reliable personal transportation required.
• Must be dedicated to the mission of serving women and children experiencing homelessness.
• Self-motivated, process-oriented, reliable, creative, flexible, and a self-starter
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills CHILDCARE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Providing childcare during scheduled programming and additional hours as needed.
• Supervising field trips to local points of interest (zoo, state parks, baseball games, etc.)
• Teaching skills to children (reading, painting, etc.)
• Facilitating our Royal Reading Program for children with volunteers.
• Available to attend outside training as needed.
• Assist at Central Station (front desk) as needed.
• Assist case managers and other staff, as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Child Advocate
• Responsible for adhering to all policy and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and other departmental procedure manuals. ACCOUNTABILITY : The childcare associate position reports directly to the Child Advocate.

Requirements

• Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screen
• Occasionally required to lift up to 50 lbs.
• The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
• Occasionally required to reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Ability to see and respond to situations.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $15.00 per hour

• Minimum 20 hours weekly Experience :
• Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
• Childcare: 1 year (Preferred) License/Certification:
• Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred) Work Location: In person
