Job Requisition #: 034418 State Income Tax Senior (Open) Job Description: We are   seeking   a highly motivated   and experienced   State   Income Tax Senior   to join our dynamic tax team. The ideal candidate will be an integral part of our domestic income tax compliance team . This role will provide support for other areas such as Tax Reporting and   the related   Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740 ).

Key Responsibilities

State Income Tax Compliance

  • Preparation   and filing of   multi-state   consolidated ,   unitary and separate   income tax returns.
  • Ensure   timely   and   accurate   preparation and filing of extensions and estimated payments.
  • Prepare supporting documentation   and workpapers   for relevant tax returns .
  • Work with other members of the tax department to coordinate completion of all required forms .
  • Respond to tax   notices   as   necessary. Plan, Direct and execute tax accounting for primary area of subject matter   expertise
  • Ensure accuracy   and timeliness   of tax account   rollforwards   and reconciliations
  • Prepare current and deferred tax provision
  • Prepare rate reconciliation Audit Management
  • Assist   with   state income tax audits,   i ncluding r espond ing   to   information   requests . Financial Reporting
  • Assist   in the preparation of state income tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements   in accordance with   ASC 740. Train   and develop ment
  • Provide training and support to junior   staff   members
  • Manage staff deliverables   in accordance with   due dates on tax calendar and   overall tax department objectives
  • Review, evaluate , and e nsure accuracy of staff work   and provide technical feedback Process Improvement
  • Take active ownership for k nowledge of sof tware, processes, and workflows , as they relate to   the overall   State & Local   Income Tax functional area
  • Actively seek & design process improvements related to all   compliance &   tax accounting activities
  • Maximize use of existing tax software   throughout   provision and compliance   process Education and Experience :
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field ​
  • CPA or MST certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in state income tax compliance and planning, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm. Knowledge and Skills :
  • Solid theoretical and practical   knowledge   and understanding   of   state and local   income tax law s and regulations .
  • Ability to analyze,   evaluate   and quantify the   financial impact   of   state   tax issues.
  • Strong understanding of   US GAAP accounting .
  • S trong technology skills,   Corptax   software experience preferred .
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent i nterpers onal (written and oral) skills and ability to inform, educate, and influence others to support corporate goals and   objectives .
  • Must be   self-motivated and   willing to learn new skills.
  • Must be   a   team player,   working collaboratively   in a team environment.

Compensation

Range: The pay range for this position is $81,800.00 - $139,200.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between90,000.00 to100,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location.

The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
