Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust and scalable database automation solutions.
- Advise software engineers on database internals and design solutions.
- Execute and build automation around database benchmarking. Code database management tooling in PL/SQL and Java. Define specifications for database specific roadmap items. Solutions architecture of database systems for key customers.
- Perform on call duties, including incident response, troubleshooting, and customer support.
- Present database best practices at conferences and workshops. Position
Requirements
Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Must have one year of experience in the following skills: (1)
- Deep knowledge and experience designing and maintaining Oracle relational databases; (2)
- Experience working directly with customers, resolving database, systems and infrastructure-related issues, and providing systems architecture leadership; (3)
- Working knowledge of relational database internals (locking, consistency, serialization, recovery paths); (4)
- Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (Shell, Python, or Perl) and a procedural language for at least one database (PL/SQL, T-SQL, or equivalent database); (5) Systems engineering experience, including Linux performance, memory management, I/O tuning, configuration, security, networking, clusters, and troubleshooting.
