The 5 South Observation Unit supports both the Emergency Department and telemetry services by caring for low‑acuity patients who require short‑term monitoring to determine whether inpatient admission is needed. • Serves as the shift supervisor and key member of the unit’s leadership team
• Provides clinical guidance and support to staff throughout the shift
• Rounds on patients and families to ensure safety, satisfaction, and high‑quality care
• Collaborates closely with the Nurse Manager on operational needs, including scheduling, staff development, and maintaining clinical competence
