CaVU is seeking a network engineer to support the design of Navy networks.  Specifics tasks include: Development of network topologies and templates from system requirements, development of network templates and IP plans, development of test plans and documentation. Configuration and documentation of SDWAN solutions. This position is a hybrid-site located in San Diego, CA. Candidate will be required to attend meetings at client site in classified spaces. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of six (6) years experience supporting the engineering of Information Technology systems for a DoD or Government Agency and the specific LCAT requirements the candidates is proposed under.  See additional task/position-specific requirements below. EDUCATION: Bachelors of Science degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physical Science required. CLEARANCE: Secret minimum, TS/SCI desired ADDITIONAL REQUIRED POSITION-SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation
  • Proven track record of performance in client facing roles that require engagement and relationship building with stakeholders across Navy programs, the DoD, or other federal agencies
  • Experience with SDN/ SD-WAN Technologies and vendors including VMware, NSX-T, Cisco, Juniper, and open-source solutions
  • Experience with network configuration for L2/L3 switches, routers, security appliances (firewalls, NIDS, NIPS, etc)
  • Experience developing and documenting network topologies
  • Experience in troubleshooting and restoring network and system outages
  • Experience in virtualization technologies
  • CCNP (or equivalent) certification DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with RF communications, specifically MILSATCOM or COMSATCOM technologies.
  • Experience leveraging NetDevOps or DevSecOps to scale enterprise level engineering projects.
  • Experience with Network Automation in Python, Ansible, NETCONF, and/or RESTCONF
  • Experience modeling network configuration in JSON, YAML, or Jinja
  • Experience developing and maturing complex, collaborative networking projects and working autonomously to move network development forward Comprehensive

Compensation & Benefits

Package: Salary at CaVU is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, education, training, certificates, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The expected salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $160,000.00 . To drive fair pay practices for employees, CaVU conducts regular comparisons across our employee groups and the industry. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, CaVU considers a number of factors when determining salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
