The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

Responsibilities

  • You will scale distributed applications, make architectural trade-offs applying synchronous and asynchronous design patterns, write code, and deliver with speediness and quality.
  • You will develop multi-tier scalable, high-volume performing, and reliable user-centric applications that operate 24x7.
  • You will produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
  • You will provide technical leadership, driving and performing best engineering practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wide critical programs. Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity
  • You will own end-to-end feature delivery, translating ambiguous product requirements into clean, testable, and maintainable production code.
  • You will write high-quality software that is rigorously unit-tested, peer-reviewed, and deployed using robust continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • You will utilize AI tools throughout the SDLC to boost design, coding, and review productivity
  • You will design extensible APIs and backend services that elegantly handle synchronous and asynchronous workflows, making deliberate architectural trade-offs between speed and scalability.
  • You will design and optimize data layers, selecting appropriate relational or non-relational database architectures to handle distributed transactions and large-scale data storage.
  • You are expected to demonstrate technical ownership, driving engineering best practices like code health, thorough documentation, and comprehensive post-mortems.
  • You are expected to operate with agility, delivering high-impact features with speed and operational quality without compromising system stability.
  • You will work with cross-functional partners, including Product Management, Design, and Data Science, to build intuitive, reliable, and user-centric application experiences.
  • You will learn to navigate and contribute to highly complex, large-scale enterprise codebases and infrastructure networks.
  • You will learn how to leverage advanced telemetry, monitoring, and profiling tools to proactively diagnose and resolve production bottlenecks.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • 1+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions
  • Experience programming in languages such as Python, Java, Javascript, C/C++, C#, Objective-C, Ruby, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in designing and building infrastructure and web services at large scale.
  • Expert knowledge of computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
  • Experience with relational databases (transactional and non-transactional), database architecture, and distributed transaction management.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience.
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline
  • System Design: Proven experience designing, building, and operating robust web services and distributed infrastructure at internet scale.
  • Core Competencies: Strong foundational knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including advanced data structures, algorithms, and modular software design patterns.
  • Tech stack:
  • Proficiency in at least one mainstream language (e.g., Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript).
  • Solid understanding of relational and non-relational database design, distributed transaction management, and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with modern development ecosystems, including advanced IDEs, build automation, containerization, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Proven track record of transforming ambiguous business opportunities into autonomous agentic systems capable of long-horizon reasoning and decision-making. Suggested Skills:

The pay range for this role is $108,900 - $147,400. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
