Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabrication Welder to manufacture aluminum, stainless steel, and miscellaneous metal products. This role combines fitting, layout, and TIG welding to produce handrails and other custom fabricated components while meeting quality, productivity, and safety expectations. The ideal candidate has strong TIG welding experience, can interpret fabrication drawings, and enjoys working in a fast-paced shop environment.
Primary
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, fit, and weld aluminum, stainless steel, and other metal components for handrails and miscellaneous metal products.
- Perform TIG welding to produce clean, accurate, and structurally sound welds.
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work instructions.
- Measure, lay out, cut, and prepare materials according to project specifications.
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment, including saws, notchers, grinders, and various hand tools.
- Assemble and align parts using jigs, fixtures, measuring tools, and layout equipment before welding.
- Safely move materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead lifting equipment when required.
- Meet production schedules while maintaining quality and safety standards.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with shop safety procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience performing TIG welding on aluminum and stainless steel in a fabrication environment.
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately.
- Proficient with tape measures, layout tools, and common fabrication hand tools.
- Knowledge of shop math, including fractions, measurements, and basic geometry.
- Ability to identify and resolve fit-up, layout, and welding issues with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing production priorities.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication equipment and shop processes.

Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, reach, and perform repetitive hand and wrist movements throughout the shift.
- Close visual attention is required to inspect weld quality and complete detailed fabrication work safely and accurately.
