Overview

Special Education Teacher (Part-Time) — Middle Country Location: In-Home Instruction, Selden/Centereach, NY area — in-person only Dates: 8/4/26 – 6/30/27 Schedule: ~3 hrs/day, 15 hrs/week (22 contracted days) — sessions after 4pm only Pay Rate: $60–$65/hr

About the Role

Work one-on-one with a NYSAA (NY State Alternatively Assessed) student in an in-home setting. The student has 22 sessions to make up from prior absences — great opportunity for a Special Ed Teacher looking for flexible, after-hours part-time work. Responsibilities

  • Consult and collaborate with School staff and families in regards to students’ educational deficits
  • Conduct initial screenings as well as comprehensive evaluations Participate in the IEP process in developing present levels of performance, goals and objectives, and treatment recommendations for students qualifying for Special Education services
  • Provide Special Education sessions through the use of current best practices based on prescribed services in the IEP
  • Maintain all documentation required by the district including, but not limited to, notes, monthly summaries, and annual IEP’s

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current license to practice in the state of NY.
  • Have successful experience working with culturally diverse families.
