Innovate with purpose At BILL, we believe in empowering the businesses that drive our economy. By replacing outdated financial processes with innovative tools, we help businesses—from startups to established brands—make smarter decisions and gain control of their operations. And we don’t stop there: we’re creating the future of financial automation so businesses can spend more time on what matters.
Working here means you become part of a vision-driven team that’s ready to tackle challenges and build cutting-edge solutions. We value purpose, drive, and curiosity—and we thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Whether in one of our offices in San Jose, CA, Draper, UT, or in a remote-eligible role, BILLders collaborate to deliver real impact for businesses that need more time in their busy weeks.
BILL builds high performing teams and we seek to hire the best talent for every role. We're committed to building a workplace that fosters inclusion and diverse perspectives, valuing each person’s unique skills and experiences. We’d love to hear from you—you might be just what we’re looking for, whether in this role or another. ✨ Let’s give businesses more time for what matters.
Make your impact at a leading Fintech Company The Sync Migrations team is part of BILL's Customer Solutions organization. We guide customers through the process of reconfiguring their accounting software sync connection, managing the full lifecycle from discovery and consultation through technical execution and post-migration enablement. This is a consultative role.
Success looks like understanding the customer's specific situation and desired outcomes, then prescribing the right path forward. The ideal candidate is as comfortable facilitating a discovery conversation with a CFO as they are executing the technical steps of a migration. We are not looking for someone who treats migrations as a service-level task to complete; we are looking for someone who treats them as customer relationships to build.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead discovery conversations to understand customer environments, workflows, and migration goals before prescribing a path
- Run full-cycle migration consultations via Zoom: scope, recommend, execute, and close
- Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable guidance for non-technical and executive stakeholders
- Confirm customer readiness, required prerequisites, scope, and definition of done before execution
- Partner with Customer Success and other customer-owning teams to ensure the customer arrives prepared and the receiving team has the context needed after migration
- Validate the migration outcome, resolve or document remaining risks, and close the engagement with clear customer and internal next steps
- Complete required SOW, billing, documentation, and system updates so each migration is operationally and commercially closed
- Identify relevant product adoption, retention, or expansion opportunities during customer conversations and provide a clear, documented handoff to the appropriate team
- Maintain accurate project documentation in the required systems; adhere to defined SLAs for triage, scheduling, follow-up, customer communication, and queue hygiene
- Resolve sync errors proactively and coach customers on post-migration workflows to ensure they can operate independently
- Contribute to process improvement and share patterns from customer interactions with the team We’d love to chat if you have:
- 2+ years in a consultative customer-facing role: implementation, onboarding, customer success, or solutions consulting
- Strong discovery and needs-assessment instincts; comfortable asking probing questions that surface what the customer actually needs, not just what they say they want
- Ability to prescribe solutions based on customer context rather than defaulting to a fixed playbook or deferring decisions back to the customer
- Confidence facilitating conversations with executives and C-level stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to adapt style for technical and non-technical audiences
- Detail orientation and comfort managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Rillet) is a plus
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Asana, or Zendesk is helpful Visa Sponsorship: Please note that this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
