At Cleveland Clinic, our massage therapists use massage techniques to treat disorders of the human body, promote healing, improve clinical   outcomes   and encourage higher levels of wellness. Our professionally trained and licensed massage therapists use touch to manipulate the tissues of the body in a skilled,   sensitive   and compassionate way. Many patients enjoy massage therapy as a regular part of   maintaining   wellness, while others may use it as a temporary treatment for specific injuries or conditions. This ro le will not only allow you to support the rehab needs of our patients during their care   journeys but   can also lead to   other opportunities within Cleveland Clinic outside of the Fitness realm. A caregiver in this position works 15-20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between 7:00AM – 5:00PM.   Start and stop times can be flexible. With current business needs, this position will not be fixed to one site. Supporting Palm City will be   required   as needed. Training will take place and Palm City and Hobe Sound. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Administer therapeutic massage and bodywork modalities, including deep tissue, Swedish, trigger point, stretching, pregnancy/post-partum massage, acupressure, reflexology and   hydro-therapy .
  • Interview   patient   to   determine   medical history, condition, desired   results   and   appropriate modality .
  • Apply selected modality, concentrating on any areas of   particular discomfort .
  • Monitor patient's responses to treatment and adjust,   change   or   terminate   treatment based on feedback.
  • Properly document patient information, interview responses, treatments,   feedback   and results.
  • Maintain therapy   areas   in a clean, safe,   sterile   and organizational state.
  • Order   supplies   as necessary. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • High School   graduate   or equivalent
  • Graduate of an accredited massage therapy program
  • Current Florida state licensure as a Massage Therapist
  • Current Florida Board of Cosmetology license   required   if performing aesthetician duties
  • One year of experience providing massage services OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
  • Experience working in a health care field Physical

Requirements

  • Requires full body motion to move and lift patients and equipment, lifting of items in excess of 30 pounds.
  • Requires standing and walking for extended times.
  • Ability to assist with positioning and transporting patients; e.g., carts and wheelchairs.
  • Requires the ability to maneuver equipment and motor coordination to operate equipment. Personal Protective Equipment:
