Overview

Shift: 11p-7a, weekend and holiday rotation, 16 hours/week The Observation Unit at IMMC is a 14-bed unit dedicated to providing accelerated care with further management to determine patient need for inpatient admission or discharge. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, contributes professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients and their families. Maintains a practice environment that reflects the American Nurses Association Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health within the structure of the Professional Nurse Practice Model and in collaboration with other care givers while promoting effective working relationships.

Responsibilities

  • PCT performs patient care and treatments under supervision of a RN. Provides and documents care including, but not limited to, activities of daily living, mobility, specimen collection and respiratory support activities as directed by the RN.
  • Possess the ability to lift, move, position and transport patients.
  • Demonstrates the ability to meet the department work schedule.
  • Demonstrates initiative to improve quality of care, patient and employee safety, and customer service.

Qualifications

License(s)/Certification(s): Basic CNA Course or EMT-B Certification Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire. Other: Must be Sixteen (16) years old or older
