Job Summary

Coordinates activities and flow of work for an assigned function, unit or area within the Sterile Processing and Distribution area. Job Description:

What You'll Do

  • Prioritizes multiple tasks and projects to ensure timely completion. Delegates and assigns work commensurate with knowledge, skill and experience, and ensures the work is performed appropriately.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to assist with problem identification and resolution, cost containment issues, implementation of new services, and systems/performance measures.
  • Facilitates the development, implementation and evaluation of program or area services and initiatives, including training on product usage, maintenance and infection control.
  • Serves as a resource to staff regarding departmental/area policies, procedures and services regarding decontamination, processing, selection and distribution of medical products. Performs functions of underlying job.

What You'll Bring

  • Certification as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - HSPA or Certification as a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CPSDT) - CBSPD required . One (1) of the following is required upon hire; the remaining two (2) certifications are required within 12 months of hire:
  • Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) - CBSPD
  • Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) - HSPA or Surgical Instrument Specialist Certification (CSIS) through CBSPD
  • Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) - HSPA or Certified in Sterile Processing Management (CSPM) - CBSPD. This position will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of patient safety and care at both of our key sites, helping MaineGeneral continue its mission of health and excellence.
