Engineers at over 1,500 global manufacturers trust Porex for unique components across a wide variety of device applications in the life sciences, consumer, and electronics markets to give their products a competitive edge. www.porex.com We are seeking a Process Quality Engineer (PQE) to join our rotational program, offering exposure to Operations and Quality, followed by a choice between a Production Planning, or Production Supervisor role for the final rotation.
This immersive program allows you to gain hands-on experience across key functions, ultimately preparing you for a non-rotational role in the company upon completion of three rotations (up to 24 months).
Responsibilities
- Operations – Process Engineer
- Drive process improvements and ensure manufacturing methods enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions to optimize performance and reduce waste.
- Manage and document process validations, equipment installation, and manufacturing method improvements.
- Support operations with troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing variability and improving throughput.
- Quality - Quality Engineer
- Work closely with the Quality Department to enhance quality systems and ensure products meet internal and external specifications.
- Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other quality tools to resolve customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support quality-related projects aimed at improving product consistency, reducing defects, and increasing overall product quality.
- Lead or support quality initiatives to improve existing test methods and invest in new testing technology to increase inspection efficiency
- Production Planner or Production Supervisor (Final Rotation)
- Lead a production department, overseeing day-to-day operations, safety, and quality.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and mentor frontline staff to achieve goals.
- Develop and maintain a production schedule to meet customer demand; review customer request date, lead times, and production schedule dates.
- Analyze capacity models and recommend staffing, efficiency, or engineering solutions to optimize throughput and address any constraints
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- New graduates or those with up to 2 years of postgraduate experience are encouraged to apply.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and quality systems in production environments. (Hands-on experience is a plus but not required.)
- Foundational knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, SPC, Six Sigma, and team-based problem-solving; candidates with coursework or internship experience in these areas are preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives, influence stakeholders, and drive results beyond individual contributor responsibilities.
