Job description
Overview
The Art Therapist provides mental health services on a non-verbal and verbal basis to students and their families facilitating the use of art as a medium of expression, develops appropriate treatment goals and acts as a member of the interdisciplinary team. * We will consider LGPAT or LCPAT (Art Therapist I or II)
Responsibilities
1.
- Develop individualized goals and objectives for each student with IEP services, based upon assessmentprocedure and IEP team recommendation.. 2.
- Implement evidence-based practice treatment plans to meet student IEP goals and objectives. 3.
- Maintain up-to-date log note documentation, with required components, of services delivered, prepares quarterly and annual reports for IEPs. 4.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, collaborating with educational and other clinical staff to implement student IEPs and facilitate students’ participation with and progress in the curriculum. 5.
- Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining materials, equipment, requisitioning supplies and organizing art therapy room. 6.
- Participate in the mental department meetings and committees and demonstrates professional demeanor with colleagues. 7.
- Plan/develop and deliver programmatic expressive therapy groups for students as required by school program assignment; collaborate as required with other team members to facilitate groups.
Qualifications
· Must possess and maintain licensure at the LCPAT or LGPAT level through the MD Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists · Professional Crisis Management (PCM) training will be provided by the department. The employee must achieve certification at the “Practitioner” level according to the timeline established within the departmental policy. EDUCATION: ·
- Master’s
- Degree in Art Therapy is required. EXPERIENCE: · Two years experience in art therapy with children is preferred. ·
- Experience with ED/LD/DD children is required. Minimum pay range USD $34.13/Hr. Maximum pay range USD $48.69/Hr.
