Job description
Overview
- Under general supervision, is responsible for assisting in the abstraction and analysis of system-wide quality data.
- Collaborates, communicates, and educates all levels of hospital staff and physicians regarding new and updates to existing quality data metrics.
- Monitors and evaluates the need and/or compliance of quality/performance improvement initiatives across the hospital system to ensure the quality of patient care.
- Provides assistance to other staff with tasks related to overall operation of the Quality Management Department and the Medical Center.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse licensure by the State of Alabama
- Possess strong interview, critical thinking, negotiation, collaboration and written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in advanced use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Power Point
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work independently and exhibit effective time management skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of hospital staff and physicians
- Ability to work as a patient advocate to ensure a patient centered focus
- Ability to use standard office equipment and supplies
- Capable of job training and teaching Medical Center and Department policies and procedures
