Overview
EXPLEO GROUP USA is looking for an Automotive Sales Lead to join a dynamic and expanding team in Troy, Michigan. The Automotive Sales Lead will be responsible for driving business growth, developing strategic customer relationships, identifying new opportunities within OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, and supporting revenue expansion across engineering, quality, validation, manufacturing, and technology services. This role requires a strong understanding of the automotive industry, consultative selling skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and related mobility organizations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, engineering leaders, procurement teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Generate and qualify leads through networking, referrals, industry events, and market intelligence.
- Manage the complete sales cycle from opportunity identification through contract negotiation and closure.
- Develop account growth strategies for existing customers while expanding Expleo's footprint within target organizations. Customer Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
- Conduct customer meetings to understand business challenges, technical requirements, and strategic objectives.
- Present Expleo's engineering, quality, digital, and consulting capabilities to prospective and existing customers.
- Build long-term partnerships by providing proactive support and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with customers to identify future projects and emerging opportunities. Proposal Development & Commercial Management
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, recruiting, and delivery teams to develop customer solutions.
- Support the preparation of proposals, Statements of Work (SOWs), pricing models, and commercial presentations.
- Participate in contract reviews, negotiations, and commercial discussions.
- Ensure proposals align with customer requirements, business objectives, and organizational capabilities.
- Assist leadership in developing competitive pricing and service strategies. Market Intelligence & Strategic Planning
- Monitor automotive industry trends, competitor activities, customer investments, and emerging technologies.
- Analyze market opportunities related to electrification, autonomous systems, software-defined vehicles, validation, manufacturing, and quality engineering.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and business development reports.
- Maintain accurate records and opportunity tracking within CRM systems.
- Support strategic growth initiatives and customer expansion plans. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with recruiting teams to align talent acquisition strategies with customer demand.
- Partner with delivery and operations teams to ensure successful execution of customer programs.
- Collaborate with marketing teams on customer engagement activities, events, and promotional campaigns.
- Support customer escalations and maintain strong communication throughout program execution.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance sales effectiveness and customer experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive sales, business development, account management, or strategic customer management.
- Proven experience developing business within automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or engineering service organizations.
- Strong understanding of automotive engineering, manufacturing, quality, validation, or technology services.
- Demonstrated success managing the full sales lifecycle and achieving revenue targets.
- Experience preparing proposals, commercial agreements, and customer presentations.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience engaging with engineering, purchasing, operational, and executive stakeholders.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to travel as required to support customer meetings and business development activities.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Existing relationships within Detroit-area automotive OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
- Experience selling engineering services, validation services, quality solutions, digital transformation services, or consulting services.
- Knowledge of automotive development processes, manufacturing operations, and quality systems.
- Experience supporting electrification, ADAS, autonomous vehicle, connectivity, or software-defined vehicle programs.
- Familiarity with automotive standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience working within a global engineering or consulting organization.

Compensation
Corporate positions offer competitive compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 Base Salary + Variable Compensation, depending on your skills, experience, and location. Final compensation is determined based on skill alignment, years of experience, and fair, market-based rates by geography. • Comprehensive
