Overview
We are seeking an Electrical Systems Integration Engineer to support the design, installation, testing, and integration of electrical systems used in power-generation equipment. This role combines engineering, production support, testing, and technical guidance for electrical teams.
Responsibilities
- Review electrical designs, schematics, specifications, and layouts for accuracy and NEC compliance.
- Support electrical design, proposals, and specification requirements in coordination with Sales Engineering.
- Develop electrical drawings and Bills of Material (BOMs) and specify appropriate electrical equipment.
- Establish recommended methods for electrical component design, arrangement, and installation within equipment enclosures.
- Guide and train electricians and production employees on schematic interpretation, installation, testing, labeling, equipment operation, and safe work practices.
- Develop and coordinate cross-training for production employees covering the electrical aspects of the product line.
- Inspect and functionally test completed equipment before shipment using product drawings and specifications.
- Identify discrepancies, defects, or installation issues and coordinate corrections with Supervisors and Managers.
- Review incoming third-party materials and confirm electrical requirements, expected delivery, and required integration work.
- Perform electrical load calculations and other standard computations related to wiring and equipment requirements.
- Read and work from drawings, layouts, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics to determine proper installation methods.
- Provide technical guidance on electrical work methods, priorities, tools, and equipment.
- Use electronic test equipment to perform functional and indication testing and basic programming of displays, sensors, and HMIs .
- Assist with resolving technical issues and discrepancies before equipment is shipped.
- Exercise sound judgment when establishing work methods and priorities.
- Travel to job sites as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field .
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience involving electrical equipment design, installation, and testing.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering blueprints .
- Experience designing and building control panels for basic electro-mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with electrical test equipment and testing methods, including multimeters, ammeters, and functional testing with defined indicators .
- Knowledge of AC/DC electricity and electrical theory .
- Thorough understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
- Strong knowledge of power-generation equipment, including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems .
- Ability to perform basic programming of electrical equipment such as displays, sensors, and HMIs.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Professional communication skills and ability to work effectively with coworkers, customers, supervisors, and management.
- Strong customer-service skills and professional presence.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Some travel to job sites and between local facilities is required. Work Environment
