Overview
The Welder will operate specialized welding machines to join sheet metal components, ensuring high-quality construction for elevator parts. This position requires technical skill, precision, and adherence to safety protocols in a dynamic shop environment. Essential Functions
- Operate single and multi-head spot welding equipment.
- Operate Tig welder
- Operate Mig welder
- Set up welding machines according to specifications and project requirements.
- Inspect and test welds for strength, durability, and precision.
- Clean and maintain welding tips and equipment as needed.
- Perform manual handling of materials using small hand tools.
- Complete necessary paperwork and data entry accurately. Position
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in steel fabrication and welding.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Skills & Abilities
- Strong work ethic with a desire to develop comprehensive manufacturing skills.
- Knowledge of welding processes and steel fabrication.
- Ability to lift heavy materials up to 100 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
- Familiarity with using small tools and machinery.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, take direction, and complete assignments on time.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints Physical and Working Conditions
- Regularly requires walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
- Must have good manual dexterity and vision to handle objects and perform detailed work.
- Primarily works in a shop environment with varying temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt.
