  • Tuition Reimbursement Position Purpose:  Responsible for performing a variety of procedures including 2D ECHO’s, Stress Echo’s, and Bubble Studies. Shift available: Weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Status available: Contingent

Required Qualifications

Education: Completion of an accredited formal cardiac sonography program or equivalent relevant experience with current registration required for those without the formal program completion. Experience: 1 year of experience, preferred. Experience completing stress echocardiograms for at least one year is strongly preferred. Certification/Licensure: Must be registered/certified or registry eligible. Registry/Certification must be obtained through ARDMS or CCI within one year of hire. What the Echocardiographer will do:

  • Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Conflict approaches in a constructive manner.  Helps to identify problems, offer solutions, and participate in their resolution.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees, and visitors to Chelsea Hospital.  Discusses patient and hospital information only among appropriate personnel in appropriate private places.
  • Maintains knowledge to perform the duties of the job. Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, and to report all preventable hazards and unsafe practices immediately to management.
  • Demonstrates self-directed learning.
  • Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Chelsea Hospital.
  • Provides quality patient care by considering age specific, development and cultural needs through competent clinical practice.  Demonstrates unit/area competencies.
  • Identifies and assists in resolution of problems related to safety, sanitation and maintenance of the environment.
  • Practices effective communication in all interactions (patient, visitor, co-worker, etc.)
  • Promotes a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork.
  • Responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound and stress echocardiograms following American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines.
  • Knowledgeable in all ASE guidelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft Professional.
  • Assists with department patient workflow and facilitating throughput by starting IV's, etc. as needed.
  • Maintains Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL).
