Sr. Java Architect

Job Description Description:

• Must be very hands on and ready to wear several hats – Application Architect, Solutions Architect, Technology Guru and Technical Leader/Sr. Developer
• Well rounded skill sets in Java/JEE/GWT to provide end to end Enterprise solutions for Financial Services Industry in Compliance Group
• Ability to operate in a fast paced environment, assimilating large amounts of information quickly, and developing strategies and products with a minimal amount of oversight. Strong working relationship skills, with various stake holders particularly with senior executives Skills List:
• Expert in Architecture and Design skills
• Sound understanding of Design patterns
• Very good in creating and understanding UML artifacts
• Well versed with Non Functional requirements who can work towards architecting top performing, highly available, scalable, maintainable distributed applications which are going to be deployed globally
• Design, develop documents and analyze overall architecture of systems, including hardware and software requirements
• Solving critical business problems and strong delivery focused
• Coordinates design and integration of total system including subsystems
• Researches and recommends technology to improve the current systems
• Conceptual knowledge of development techniques
• Proficient in exercising technical leadership which requires the ability to accept responsibility for the success of the architecture of a project, coordinate resources that are often not directly under their control, and provide the support necessary to ensure overall success
• Required to be an expert in the understanding of architectural principles and their implications to system design, security, system extensibility and interoperability, costs, and operational considerations
• Proficient in Open Source technologies
• Well versed in architecting appealing rich user interfacing applications with very good usability
• Expert in Core Java/JEE
• Good track record in terms of using open source frameworks and tools
• Expert level knowledge in terms of integrating Java/JEE systems with other technologies
• Experience in Web services and service oriented environment
• Guru in Business and Integration tiers with very good knowledge of Spring, Hibernate and JPA
• Very Strong in terms of refactoring, best coding practices and code organization
• Strong experience deploying applications in WebSphere application server
• Good working knowledge of Oracle database
• Working knowledge of Maven build process, Cruise Control and version control systems like Subversion
• Experience in Unix/Linux and Shell scripting
• Comfortable working with remote teams
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
