• Tuition Reimbursement Position Purpose: Assumes full responsibility for providing quality speech language pathology services in compliance with ASHA and SLP scope of   practice . Independently provides comprehensive services to improve patient participation, independence, and functioning through the evaluation of medical necessity for skilled speech therapy services, evidence-based therapeutic interventions, multidisciplinary team   Involvement , counseling, referrals, and education. What the   Speech Language Pathologist   Will Do:
• Independently evaluates and diagnoses functional abilities/disabilities under provider order within the areas of   speech, language, voice, cognition, feeding and swallowing, fluency, resonance, and auditory   habilitation/rehabilitation through standardized and informal testing procedures.
• Establishes patient-centered treatment goals in collaboration with the patient, family, and care team. Establishes written treatment plan and administers treatment for each patient according to stated goals.
• Documents   evaluation and treatment of all patients in compliance with department standards, ASHA code of ethics, and medical-legal regulations.
• Provides education and instruction to the patient and family   regarding   evaluation results, plan of care, recommended interventions , home   exercise programs. Including providing written instructions, as necessary.
• Provides culturally responsive care by creating a culturally safe environment,   utilizing   appropriate assessment   and treatment materials, and obtaining language interpretation as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of a   Master’s   program accredited by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Required:   Master’s   in   applicable field .
• State of Michigan Speech-Language Pathologist License or Speech-Language Pathologist Educational Limited   Temporary License during their clinical fellowship year (CF), or eligible to obtain licensure prior to hire date.
• Hold and   maintain   the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology through ASHA or   be provisionally accepted during their clinical fellowship year (CF).
