Job description
Overview
The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides patient-centered occupational therapy services on an as-needed basis to individuals in an acute care setting.
Responsibilities
The OT is responsible for assessing functional needs, developing treatment plans, and providing interventions to restore and/or enhance the patient's ability to perform activites of daily living (ADLs) and improve functional independence. Responsibilies include: evaluate patients' functional status in areas includibng mobility, self-care, cognition, and psychosocial aspects.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on physician orders, clinical findings, and patient goals.
- Provide interventions to improve physical. cognitive, and/or psychosocial functioning related to illness or injury.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists, and case managers to ensure coordinated care.
- Document patient assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies for continued care.
- Participate in discharge planning, including recommending durable medical equipment (DME) and home modifications.
- Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practicies in acute care occupational therapy.
Qualifications
- Current State Physical Therapy Licensure, graduate of an approved school of Physical Therapy or graduate of accredited college of university with a certificate in Physical Therapy.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum 1 year experience in an acute care or hospital setting preferred.
- Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and fill in for staff absences. Hospital Description 8 HOUR SHIFT
