Description As a Facility and Inventory Specialist , you champion and level-up our facilities from a basic shop to a simple, effective, and systematic operation that supports the evolving needs of our R&D, engineering, and production teams. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative startup environment, where your contributions will have a direct impact on the future of decarbonization.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end operations of our combined office, lab, and manufacturing facility, ensuring safety, reliability, and operational excellence
- Identify, anticipate, and resolve facility related issues and improvement opportunities, engaging with contractors as necessary
- Plan and coordinate facility build-outs to support evolving R&D, engineering, and production demands as we scale
- Receive incoming deliveries and routing to inventory locations, ensuring documentation and traceability are maintained with our systems
- Retrieve and package inventory into traceable kits for production teams
- Develop the standard operating procedures for facility maintenance and inventory operations
- Manage the generation, delivery, and/or waste of production commodities (compressed gasses, DI water, industrial fluids)
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in facilities management, warehouse operations, logistics, or similar roles in energy, industrial, aerospace, defense, or similar production environment
- Familiarity with facility, supply chain, inventory, quality management processes and the systems used to support them (ERP, MES, QMS, CMMS, Jira, etc…)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
- Able to work on-site in Hawthorne, CA
Preferred Skills
& Experience
- Experience in developing early-stage startups from limited procedures to systematic operations
- Ability to safely operate forklifts (5-15k lb) with non-standard loads
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, ADA, safety systems, and regulatory requirements Professional Qualities
- When given a set of guiding objectives and principles, you can identify, prioritize, and execute on tasks with minimal supervision
- You have strong organizational, documentation follow-through skills and take pride in the quality of your work
- You are passionate about decarbonization and addressing climate change
